Social Gardening is an initiative in which volunteers, including you, help renovate gardens of elderly and vulnerable people who can no longer do this themselves. Often due to health problems.
During festive project days, groups of volunteers set to work under expert guidance. They weed, prune, grub and remove tiles. Then they plant new low-maintenance and eco-friendly greenery. After the make-over, volunteers from the neighborhood help the residents with the maintenance of their garden. In this way Social Gardening works to break through social isolation and creates wonderful contacts between people who would otherwise never meet. At the same time, it contributes to more greenery and biodiversity in the neighborhood, a tidy living environment and better climate resilience.
